Metatron is an archangel known as the celestial scribe or recording angel.  He is one who metes out or marks off a place, making him the divider and fixer of boundaries.  In the Apocalypse of Zerubbabel, Metatron is known as Archangel Michael.  He is the keeper of the watch to guard and protect.

In creating the Metatron’s Army series, I was inspired not by Metatron, but by a series of events related to the geometry of Metatron’s Cube.  However, as the story progressed, I observed a number of fantastical coincidences between my plot and information I was unearthing about Metatron himself.

It gave me goosebumps.

I was inspired by the coincidences and continued on, confident that I had a solid handle on the story and the tangent elements that would come in to play as I wrote it.

Metatron’s Cube

MetatronMetatron’s Cube is an example of the concept of Sacred Geometry, or the idea that certain geometric shapes have sacred meanings and symbology.  It is observed by some that Metatron’s cube contains every shape that exists in the universe, that those shapes are the building blocks of all physical matter.

Metatron’s Army

MA InsigniaThe army is the small group of people hand-picked by Christine to thwart the efforts of the Iconoclast, an evil being who spreads as much chaos and destruction as possible.

Christine has an advantage because she was raised on Earth.  She has access to resources those in the parallel universe do not.  It’s this specialized knowledge that enables her to recognize the skills and strengths she needs from her team, and to come up with a strategy for thwarting the Iconoclast.

Christine discovers that there is a more sinister outcome in store if they don’t act.  She leads the group, not only trying to mitigate the damage already done but in keeping him from succeeding in his real objective.

The strategy takes on a life of its own as she realizes that fighting the Iconoclast is like fighting the elements of life itself.
